Who We Are

Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID) is aimed at empowering individuals and communities to uplift women, young people (especially girls) and the wider community to be leaders for positive change. We are an organization made up of community development experts who recognize that in order to create a sustainable world, we must harness the potential of communities. We strongly believe that women and young people in Cameroonian communities are central assets whose full potential remains untapped. We are also cognizant of the fact that the majority of indigenous people in communities across Cameroon live under the poverty line and work with community-based organizations to meet their needs.

We work with communities to bring diverse groups together and leverage their abilities, interests, and resources in order to engender shared values and benefits. We ensure local ownership of initiatives by working with communities to drive program design and implementation. We highly value the importance of developing a comprehensive understanding of the social, cultural, political, and economic dynamics in the communities where we implement our programs and interventions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance and protect the rights of communities, women, girls, and young people in Cameroon, while promoting equality, justice, and dignity for all. We strengthen the capacity of community leaders and community-based organizations to respond to local challenges and ensure that the voices of indigenous populations are heard and respected. Through advocacy, empowerment, and collaboration, we work to build resilient communities, foster gender equality, and create a more inclusive and democratic Cameroon where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Vision

We want to be among the leading organizations contributing to change towards more equal societies in Cameroon, where women, girls and marginalized persons fully access and enjoy their human rights.

We envision communities where:

Young people have access to the necessary resources and information to assume leadership positions within their communities as they focus on social planning and policy work.

All women and girls can exercise their rights and make informed decisions about sexuality, relationships, pregnancies, childbearing, and marriage free from coercion, violence, and discrimination.

Groups work together with stakeholders to push community-driven development. They are aware of their rights and are constantly working to empower one another.

Young people have access to education opportunities and youth-friendly reproductive health services.
